When a wandering traveler enters a small rural town and introduces himself as The Postman, he inspires people to start rebuilding civilization with mail. Note that you don’t need to be an Amazon Prime member to view The Postman. You do, however, need a valid email address and payment method; think of it as your own self-imposed free trial.
Dances with Wolves
To search for Kevin Costner Movies on Netflix currently streaming on Netflix, start typing Kevin… in your Netflix app. When you see Dances with Wolves pop up, tap it to get more information about what you’re watching. You can then tap Add star to queue up and watch your new movie.
Since Netflix is an Internet-based service, even if you add a DVD to your queue, you won’t be able to stream it until enough time has passed for the DVD to arrive and be returned by mail. While you’re waiting for that special delivery, try another great movie from Kevin’s filmography!
I mean, you knew it was coming. The Bodyguard has been a staple in Kevin Costner’s career. He’s at his romantic best in this film, but keep in mind that it’s not exactly a feel-good flick—it deals with stalking and death threats. Still, if you’re looking for a good love story to escape into for an evening or two (or three), give The Bodyguard a try.
It might just inspire your own grand gesture come Valentine’s Day… even if it doesn’t have quite as dramatic of an ending as you’d like. You can always see if Ryan Gosling is available. I hear he’s single again…
Field of Dreams
If you’re looking for a deep, thoughtful and totally unique movie that explores what life is all about, then Field of Dreams is where you should start. Sure, there’s a bit of baseball in it and some supernatural elements at play—but those are window dressing.
The big picture here is family. Dad James Earl Jones asks his son (played by Ray Liotta) to leave his pregnant wife (Amy Madigan) and run off to Iowa for some reason I don’t quite understand.
At its core, Bull Durham is a story about a veteran catcher who takes a young pitcher under his wing. With a little help from actress Susan Sarandon, Crash and Annie discover they have more in common than they thought—and that being married to your job isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
If you’re looking for an entertaining romantic comedy with an edge, look no further than Bull Durham. Bonus: You may even find yourself quoting lines at work next time you think your boss is making your life harder than it needs to be!
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit
This Tom Clancy adaptation has a little bit of everything for anyone who loves action and thriller films. Director Kenneth Branagh takes Jack Ryan from book to big screen, with a little help from Keira Knightley (who plays his love interest). Look for familiar faces from Lost’s Kevin McNally and Downton Abbey’s Colm Feore in addition to an exciting car chase through Moscow. (2/1)
Waterworld (1995) on Netflix
Waterworld is not a good movie. But it’s one of those bad movies that can be enjoyable to watch in a so-bad-it’s-good kind of way, especially with a group of friends (preferably drinking). If you were born after 1990, you might have never seen Waterworld (but if you were, trust me—you don’t want to see it now). Since its release in 1995, Waterworld has developed something of a cult following for being so bad. The movie centers around Kevin (Costner) as he searches for dry land. There’s also bad guys with guns and an apocalypse that occurred thanks to global warming.
Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves
This is one of Kevin’s most popular movies and well worth watching. Even if you haven’t seen it, but enjoy watching a classic you can’t go wrong with his remake of Robin Hood.
The 1989 version has been hailed as one of his best performances. And although it doesn’t have a lot of extras with it it’s only $3.99 to rent and $9.99 to buy on Amazon Video or iTunes so not a bad deal for such an acclaimed movie! – Michael Bluejay’s World : This is one of Kevin’s most popular movies and well worth watching. Even if you haven’t seen it, but enjoy watching a classic you can’t go wrong with his remake of Robin Hood.
Dances With Wolves
Staring Kevin Costner and Mary McDonnell, Dances With Wolves is one of Kevin’s best films. Set during a time when Native Americans were being moved to reservations, you follow one soldier as he helps a tribe that eventually adopts him.
The movie is beautifully shot and gives great insight into what life was like in those times. There are several issues brought up by their culture that still exist today; however, there are many positive things you can learn from it too. This is a film I would recommend everyone should watch at least once.
If you are really interested in Native American history or have an interest in film-making or acting, then it’s definitely worth watching again to analyze everything you can get out of it!
A struggling public relations expert finds himself in a dangerous world of murder, deception and greed after befriending an alleged killer. A lot of people—myself included—were disappointed with Kevin Costner’s role in Field of Dreams.
That may be why Mr. Brooks hasn’t been mentioned much since its release (which is a shame, because it’s a great flick). In Mr. Brooks, Costner stars as a serial killer who’s trying to go straight by becoming the president of his homeowners association and staying out of trouble…as difficult as that may be.
The 1991 JFK assassination conspiracy theory movie stars Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones and Joe Pesci. Due to a mis-routed fax, it’s mistakenly reported that JFK has been shot. With no cell phones at that time, chaos erupts across Dallas as people make their way to Parkland Hospital.
The movie details in real time what happens when word of a president’s assassination hits the public in a panic. It is such an intense film that everyone should see it once in their lifetime!
Kevin Costner stars as Sonny Weaver Jr., general manager of the Cleveland Browns, in Draft Day. All of his career eggs are riding on whether he can get superstar quarterback Bo Callahan to sign with him and help save his career. Things start to go wrong when a potential deal is put in jeopardy by a rival GM, who might be part of an elaborate plot to drive down costs for NFL players.
Directed by Ivan Reitman, Draft Day features Denis Leary as veteran sports reporter Frank Cushman. In addition to Costner and Leary, it also stars Jennifer Garner and Ellen Burstyn as Weaver’s hard-driving mother, Ida.
George and Charlie have been stealing cattle for years. When a stranger in town finds out about it, he decides to stop them and save his hometown from their vigilante justice. This 2003 film is available to stream on Netflix. Starring Robert Duvall, Annette Bening, Michael Gambon, and Kevin Costner himself as Grafton Pony Poe.
The film focuses on superpower relations between Russia and Cuba during one of the tensest periods in history. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy faces off with Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev over nuclear missiles that have been secretly placed in Cuba by Russia. JFK successfully leads an effort to force Khrushchev to remove these nuclear missiles from Cuba without starting a full-scale war.
While JFK is hailed as a hero at home, tensions remain high due to fears that Khrushchev will place additional missiles in other locations around the world. The film touches upon real footage of both American and Russian leaders giving speeches or interacting with others as news breaks about potential nuclear war throughout their time together.
3000 Miles To Graceland
Kevin Costner stars as a fearless ex-Special Forces soldier who assembles a band of criminals and misfits to rob a Los Angeles casino in exchange for their freedom. Kevin Costner Movies on Netflix The heist turns into a murderous rampage, however, after they discover what they stole is hundreds of millions of dollars worth of cocaine.
