List of How Many Shrek Movies are There
I know a lot of people who would disagree with me but in terms of how much the characters have liked, I personally consider it the best of the Shrek movie because it was its own original thing before making the series sequences for its time and it was the first true animated movie that really made Disney jokes and tried to stab them in the back when Disney was on its own to put them down on the dump in relation to their animated movie.
If you’re an animation fan I’ll definitely recommend you see the story of how this competition between Disney and DreamWorks actually started, especially with the side of The Story of Geoffrey Katzenberg but beyond that point.
As a result of this competition between Michael Eisner (CEO of Disney in the 1990s) and Jeffrey Katzenberg (CEO of DreamWorks / Old Disney Animation President), Shrek was one of the great ideas Jeffrey came to his new studio Dreamworks, and I respect Schreck for the fact that it was the first animated movie to make a mockery of Disney Head.
The first Shrek movie came out in 2001
Here’s everything you need to know about those green ogres, including movie times, trailers, and more. Here’s what you want to know. When did Shrek first come out? 2001! Who are his friends in Donkey and Puss-in-Boots? How many movies have there been, and how many video games were released too? We’ve got it all.
Series 2 ( 2004 )
While I like the original Shrek well in terms of its own thing, the character, and the history behind it, I also admit that comedy was ten times better than any of the shrewd movies in this film. You can tell how they tried this film with comedy time, a big set of new characters and animations.
The film was made from the ground to become the best film ever made, and that’s why I only pay homage to it. I also like that this movie expanded into the world of original Shrek with very good fairy-tale parodies and great new story characters for Shrek to cope with this Zorro sword cat name with Puss in Boots, which is definitely my favorite character in the movie and talk about the favorite characters!!
Shrek movie Series 2 ( 2004 )
It is the sequel to 2001’s Shrek, which was in turn based on William Steig’s 1990 fairy tale picture book of the same name and Chris Farley’s Saturday Night Live sketch. The film stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, John Lithgow, Julie Andrews, Rupert Everett, and Antonio Banderas.
Series the Third ( 2007 )
And now as the worst-ever series of films, the heart is barely coming from the original two of the film. The humor is from bad to fine and some new characters are fine, but as everyone says it is a big downgrade from the original. It’s only bad in general
In 2007, number three
Lord Farquaad dies of a broken heart after his dreams of marrying Princess Fiona are dashed. So… how many shrek movies are there really? Well, there are three feature-length films based on William Steig’s book. The first is Shrek (2001), followed by Shrek 2 (2004) and Shrek The Third (2007). But if you think that’s it, you’re wrong!
Series Forever After (2010)
As a child, I always thought it was a kind of bizarre idea for the film, especially the Shrek The Third but actually, this movie is really very decent. The story is an alternative reality story of what it would have been like if Shrek had never been born and decided to turn into a large green fighting machine used to return to his good ole days.
Rumpelstiltskin moves to sign a deal that would have put Schreck back in the past and as a result, Rumpelstiltskin becomes the far-away king and now it is in the category to beat Rampal and his forces to reach their time.
Of course, they could have done well in terms of having a big final for the biggest animated comedy ever made, but after coming off the Shrek, the third people were grateful to have at least something to watch.
Shrek forever has some nice characters, fun stories, and some funny moments here and there but my only complaint is that you can say they’re something in this movie that could have been improved a little more than Shrek The Third as a character. While Shrek may not be as bad about character as he was in the third in this film, you can say that Shrek has lost some of his humility in the first two films.
Don’t get me wrong now he still loves his family and friends but his character isn’t as polite or attractive as the first two, especially when he hit Fiona at the start of the movie. But overall I want to give the film a solid 7 out of 10. It has an effort to build from a third film, but it’s not enough to make The Shrek as good as once.
In 2010, number four was released
Shrek Forever After. A fifth is expected in 2017. That’s how many shrekmovies there are, as of 2017. It’s hard to keep track after you get past three or four,
so here’s a short list: Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek The Third and…where was I going with that again? Oh yeah! What a fun game it is to play: I Spy Something Green. Can you find all of those pesky green things?
Shrek 5 release date of September 30, 2022,
Shrek 5 will be released on September 30, 2022. The movie is based on William Steig’s Shrek! It will be directed by Chris Miller, who has directed The Lego Movie. Mike Mitchell, who co-directed Trolls, will co-direct it. Jeff Morris and Paul Schiff are writing it. John Powell is composing music for it.
Pus in Boots ( 2011)
Yes, my next movie on the list is technically The Spin-Off of Creek Franchise but I still count it as a Shrek movie, which is based on our favorite Féline Puss in Boots!! When it comes to looking back on Shrek movies, it’s really refreshing to see a movie that focuses more on adventure aspects rather than comedy.
But that said the film still has fun moments here and there. And of course, it expands once again with the creatures of the new fairy tale at Shrek Universe that like and are both laughable. Perhaps the film is one of the only animated films ever to work well.
Puss in Boots has enough characters from other Shrek films to get his movies and it goes to his origins and how he became a clever sword. Definitely worth checking out an underrated animated film!
